During the second world war two friends work at a remote railway station in the steppes. When one dies the other’s request to bury him according to Islamic rituals in a sacred place is denied by the Soviet authorities, who use that place for rocket testing.

Highly visual, complexly edited and without a traditional narrative, the film zeroes in on a group of 25 people acting out a series of semi-ritualistic behavior patterns. But their eccentric impulses are aborted in unpredictable ways with each attempt at action or development. According to the director, “The film slowly evolves a time-mosaic of reformatted consciousness.” Longtime admirers of Foreman’s work will see an intriguing adaptation of his unique theatrical style to the cinema. Quite possibly Foreman’s strongest digital video, NOW YOU SEE IT NOW YOU DON’T brings together a variety of different elements, including excerpts from Foreman’s own public talks about his work, a 1984 sound recording of his French-language theatrical adaptation of Kathy Acker’s "My Life My Death by Pier Paolo Pasolini," text from Leo Charney’s book “Empty Moments: Cinema, Modernity, and Drift”, and music from John Zorn and John Cage. These materials are integrated into a typically dense and confounding aural, linguistic, and visual web, one that’s in many ways like a filmic analogue of his theater work. But NOW YOU SEE IT NOW YOU DON’T is distinguished by the addition of various kinds of image processing, a liberal and eccentric use of onscreen text, and an uncharacteristically personal, reflective tone

The wedding of Ivan Zimohlyada and Zina Opanasenko was decided to be moved from September to October by the entire crew. The crew was relocating to a new site, and the future newlyweds were entrusted with transporting equipment by barge. The hero of the film, academician Sergei Vasilyevich Lunin, director of the Kiev Research Institute of Informatics, is working on the implementation of the Unity project in the enterprises of a single department. The film takes place in late 1941 in Transcarpathia. Soviet paratroopers landed on the territory occupied by the Hortists. Of the six, only Olexa Borkanyuk manages to bypass the ambush. However, the Nazis, taking local people hostage, threaten to punish them if he doesn't voluntarily surrender. For the sake of saving the lives of people, Olexa goes to the camp of the enemy. The film is based on real facts from the life of the writer and journalist, Hero of the Soviet Union Olexa Borkanyuk.

But the overwhelming majority of Mitya met kind, courageous people who were ready to help others and share their last. In this environment, the character of a smart, brave guy who volunteered for the front was formed.

The young energetic Lyudmila Petrovna Nikitina, who worked as a milkmaid on the farm, decided to radically change her life. Settling the head of a rural furniture store, she sold a cow, pigs, sheep, and even invited the sons of a music teacher from the city, violinist Valerian Sergeyevich, to her sons. Her husband Theodosius, a collective farm carpenter, is not able to reason with his wife, but at the same time he does not intend to put up with the new order. To Lyudmila Petrovna’s surprise, the music teacher, who had a taste for village life, also fell under the influence of Theodosius. Once, having seized children, the men fled home. With difficulty, Lyudmila Petrovna was able to restore the broken family peace, and the wife of Valerian Sergeyevich to return his husband home.
