“Krisis” is a film about the Greek crisis, and is part of a collective multimedia project “The Prism GR2011”, that was completed between September 2010 and September 2011. In the winter of 2010, Greece was hit by an unprecedented financial and social crisis. The arrival of the IMF marked the beginning of a series of revelations, forcing all those connected to Greece to go through a process of self reflection. Greeks found themselves confronted with multiple questions, regarding not only the future but also the past of the Greek nation and its role in the international terrain. Amongst the ruins and collapsing image of a country at a historical turning point, who are the heroes that emerge from the settling dust?\r\n\r\nKrisis, is a feature documentary film about the Greek Crisis, connected to the Prism GR2011 project, a collective documentation of Greece during 2010 using DSLR cameras. It focuses on the economic crisis and how it has affected a wide variety of people in this quiet and usually calm corner of Europe in 27 short films hosted on the www.theprism.tv website. \r\n\r\n'Krisis' is the synthesis of these different stories into a feature length documentary that explores how Greece and the Greeks are affected by the crisis. Krisis compiles different viewpoints, exploring the different dimensions of the afflicted\r\nnation, the characters are diverse and range from rebel leftist youth groups, to young Greek entrepreneurs, to a young couple abandoning city life for something simpler on an island, to the troubled journey of immigrants as they attempt to reach Europe. “Krisis” portrays the crisis, through a “judgment day” for the Greek citizens, a day that they will either decide to act and change, or struggle in despair and anger.
