Victor, an aspiring artist, heads to the village to paint the New Year’s decorations for the local club. He stays at a house where the club owner, Mishka, has taken him. Soon, a mutual attraction develops between Victor and the owner’s daughter, Tatiana, and Mishka becomes intensely jealous of the girl he has long been in love with. In an attempt to change Tatiana’s opinion of the new lodger, he claims that Viktor is a complete madman, whilst being told that all the residents of the house where he lives are rather unstable characters.
