"The Silence of Ani" takes place on the Turkish-Armenian border in the once-Armenian City of Ani which, after centuries of successive invasions and sackings, lies today in a state of total abandon and decay. The artist gave instruments to imitate birds-birdcalls to a group of teens from the surrounding villages. The teens entered the city walls and, playing hide and seek in the rubbles with the ghost of the forgotten city, they call the birds and create the illusion that the city comes back to life.
